Maintenance free operation.
Leak proof.  Can be used in any position.
Compact.
No 'memory effect' as with NiCad.
Maximum life is achieved when used in 'float' or standby  condition.  i.e. constant trickle charge at 13v6 to 13v8 as given by the FLYCOM battery charger, or good aircraft regulated power supply.
FLYCOM Battery charger recommended for home charging.
The battery can be left on charge indefinitely without harm when the radio is attached.
Up to 5 year life in "float" condition.
Low self discharge.
Spill proof construction. The electrolyte in these batteries is in a 'jelly' form rather than a liquid as in a car battery.
Wide operating temperature:
-20 to +50 degrees C.
Excellent recovery from deep discharge.

IMPORTANT CHARGING INFORMATION:

IMPORTANT USER INFORMATION:

Charge only with a regulated DC voltage source of 13v8 for continuous trickle such as is given by the domestic MC-240 charger or regulated aircraft DC supply.

Do not charge with a NiCad battery charger like the one that comes with your ICOM radio. These charge at constant current and will cause damage to a lead/acid "gel" battery.

Do not charge with a car battery charger.  They are not regulated and will cause damage to a lead/acid "gel" battery.

Do not charge with reversed polarity.
This will cause damage to a lead/acid "gel" battery.
Unlike NiCad batteries, Lead Acid batteries do not develop low capacity memory when charged after shallow discharge. In fact L/A batteries benefit from being kept fully charged (float condition), or regular top-up charges, rather than being deeply discharged and recharged.

Do not leave a deeply discharged lead/acid "gel" battery flat for any length of time.
This can cause irreversible damage resulting in permanent reduced capacity of the battery.

These batteries contain LEAD which is a HEAVY METAL HARMFUL TO HUMANS
and the ecosystem in general.
Recycle ALL dead batteries responsibly.
