Mk1 Intercom

This Black Box version intercom will interface with any ICOM radio and others. Superb quality 2-place aviation intercom with crystal clear communication at safe low volume settings. No need to crank up the volume on this set. (although you can if you want to!)

All FLYCOM intercoms accept both FLYCOM Headsets or Helmets with straight or angled jack plugs (both shown) and also GA (twin jack) headset using FLYCOM Headset Adaptor (HA-2)

	Plug-in PTT switch supplied with either coiled lead (shown) or straight to order. Specify length.

	Plug-in radio patch lead, fully screened (shown bottom right). Standard length 1m. You can have it longer or shorter. (State length when ordering).

	Single power supply to intercom and radio as standard.

	Non-radio fliers use without patch lead and PTT for intercom use only. Fused power lead fits in patch lead socket.

	Solo pilots can use the 2-place I/C with P2 unused. Side tone, stall warner and radio communication all still work as normal. P2 socket can be used for music input when flying solo. (Music goes off automatically when you transmit and back on again in receive mode)

	FLYCOM Mk1-BB will interface with either ICOM A2, A20, A3, A22 or A200. State which. (The A2/A20 and A3/A22/A200 patch leads are not interchangeable). The FLYCOM Mk1 can be configured to deal with either type of transmission mode, and will be supplied with the relevant patch lead.

	Selective audio filtering for optimum voice spectrum. High and low frequencies cut for maximum intelligibility and hearing protection. This is a Lo-Fi headset (by design). The last thing you want in an aviation headset is High Fidelity. see mike waveforms

	P2 mike is mute when P1 transmits on the radio. P2 hears both sides of radio conversation.

	12v to 13.8v dc supply, polarity protected. FLYCOM Mk1-BB will stand up to 22v max. NB. Your ICOM definitely won’t stand more than 15v!

	FLYCOM Mk1-BB is polarity protected. NB. Your radio may not be!

Intercom optional extras:

	3,4-place versions available.

	P1 selector switch. (P1/P2 change-over) Determines which socket transmits when the PTT is pressed. Ideal for sharing the radio work without having to swap plugs in the sockets. P2 is mute when P1 transmits. Single or double PTTs. (Note: this is not an option on 3,4 place intercoms).

	Twin plug-in PTTs (For use with change-over relay option COR-1) Enables either radio P1 (right socket) or radio P2 (left socket) to transmit. The other mike automatically mutes during the transmission. Ideal for sharing the radio work or R/T training since P1 (instructor) can override P2 (student) but P2 cannot override P1.

	On-box PTT switch. Momentary toggle or push button action. State which. (This can be in addition to, or in place of, the standard remote plug-in PTT).

	Mike output to video or audio tape recorder.

	PTT switch Positive action toggle switch for Trike fliers with Velcro fixing to base bar. Curly lead.

	Warning audio signal. (Available as added circuitry on the intercom circuit board and extra phono socket wired to the plug-in PTT) When activated the pilot hears a repetitive succession of rapid "bleeps" through the headset. Very attention seeking and cannot be ignored, but quiet enough to allow normal intercom and radio conversations while being activated. (Bleeper goes mute during radio transmissions) The bleeper audio can be used for almost anything on the aircraft which requires an audio warning. e.g. stall warning, low fuel, undone seat belt, unsecured hatch or door, etc. Use your imagination! Simply close the circuit to activate and open the circuit to de-activate. Any normally open (NO) switch or relay wired to a phono plug will activate the warning bleeper when closed.
