l
Mk2 fits like a battery
pack.
ICOM A3 or A22 radios are automatically supplied with power
(12 - 15v dc)
via the connections on the top of the intercom case.
l
Bottom entry sockets for
compact installation. (Supercedes Mk2F-3/22 front entry model now
discontinued because of new right angled plug options)
l
Right-angled plugs now available on
helmet/headset leads and extension leads for extra compact installations
and universal lead lay-out options. (front, side even back entry!)
l
Mk2
intercoms available
separately if you already have an ICOM A3/A22 or older model A2/A20.
Available as a package with radio of your
choice.
l
On-board
PTT and remote (plug-in) PTT socket fitted as standard.
l
P2 mike is mute when
P1 transmits on the radio. P2 hears both sides of radio conversation.
l
Ideal for instructors who need to be
radio self-contained in different aircraft. Besides
conventional panel mounting on a bracket they can be carried in a
pocket or clipped to a map board or shoulder strap.
l
Protection. All
FLYCOM intercoms are polarity protected and will stand up to 22v
max.
NB. ICOM radios will not stand more than 15v and are not protected by the
intercom from over-voltage or wrong polarity . |
l
Selective audio
filtering for optimum voice spectrum. High and low frequencies cut for maximum
intelligibility and hearing protection. The helmet/headset is Lo-Fi (by design).
The last
thing you want in an aviation headset is High Fidelity (Hi-Fi) see mike
waveforms
l
Adapters
available to accept David Clark or similar GA twin jack aviation headsets for light aircraft.
l
Solo pilots can use
the 2-place I/C with P2 unused. Side tone, Warning bleeper and radio communication all still
work as normal.
l
Interference-free. FLYCOM intercoms will run directly from a
'Key West' regulator without
a battery in the circuit with no interference! It is,
however, recommended that you use a battery
with a fuse in the supply lead. |
|
|
Designed
for FLYCOM Helmets or Headsets with straight or right angled jack plugs.
For
David Clark (or similar) use FLYCOM Headset Adapter HA-2 |
|
| Intercom optional extras: |
l
Plug-in
PTT. Curly
lead (PTT-1C) for Trike fliers with Velcro fixing to base bar.
Straight lead (PTT-1S) for fixed wing
joysticks. (State length when ordering). |
|
| l
P1 selector
switch. (P1/P2 change-over) Determines which socket transmits
when the PTT is pressed. Ideal for
sharing the radio work without having to swap plugs in the sockets. Single or double PTTs available. |
|
| l
Twin plug-in
PTTs (not shown) Enables either left socket or right socket to
transmit depending on which PTT is pressed. The other mike
automatically mutes during the transmission. Ideal for
sharing the radio work. Highly recommended for R/T training since P1
(instructor) can override P2 (student) but P2 cannot override P1. |
|
| l Mobile
(cell) phone interface Turns your FLYCOM helmet or headset into a hands-free phone extension.
Quieter than being in your car.
Interference free.
"Strength 5" talking and listening. |
|
| l
Mike output to video
or audio tape recorder. |
|
| l
Music
input. P2 socket can be used for music input when flying
solo. (Music goes off automatically when you transmit and back on
again in receive mode) |
|
l
Warning
audio signal. (Available as added circuitry on the intercom circuit
board and extra phono socket on the intercom case)
When activated the pilot hears a repetitive succession of rapid
"bleeps" through the headset. Very attention seeking and cannot
be ignored, but quiet enough to allow normal intercom and radio
conversations while being activated. (Bleeper goes mute during radio
transmissions)
The bleeper audio can be used for almost
anything on the aircraft which requires an audio warning. e.g. stall
warning, low fuel, undone seat belt, unsecured hatch or door, etc. Use
your imagination! Simply close the circuit to activate and open the
circuit to de-activate. Any normally open (N/O) switch or relay wired to a
phono plug will activate the warning bleeper when closed.
