 PTT SWITCH

£18.00

l The PTT switch is a momentary (normally open) toggle switch for positive action.
l
The toggle lever springs back when released.
l Red push button alternative supplied by request.
l Supplied with phono plug for Mk2 intercom.
l Supplied with 5-pin DIN plug for Mk1 intercom
l Easily mounted and de-mounted using double-sided VELCRO straps (now riveted for total security)
l Can be mounted in any attitude which is required. Top mounting is recommended for trike flying to minimise possible ingress of rain water.
l Will not accidentally transmit even if submerged in water. (not recommended!)
l Can easily be operated wearing the thickest of gloves or mitts.
l
Can even be operated with a gloved hand inside a bar muff when the switch is suitably mounted in close proximity to the bar muff.
l Easily mounted to joysticks. Will fit any diameter tube up to 50mm (2") because of generous length of Velcro straps (now riveted for total security)
l
Available with straight or coiled lead.
l
As used by ATC. Once you get used to little finger operation of the toggle switch you won't want to go back to buttons.
l Velcro straps are double-sided and can be made to slide on smooth tubes.
l
For non-slide fixing apply Velcro self adhesive "loops" to the tube.
l In the extremely unlikely event of a stuck switch you will be able to see that it's stuck.

 PTT USER INSTRUCTIONS
The switch used in this PTT contains sliding metal parts and as such requires occasional lubrication.
A light machine oil such as "3-in-1" is recommended. Two or three drops introduced where the toggle enters the body of the switch is sufficient.
DO NOT USE WD40 OR ANY SIMILAR SOLVENT
This will effectively flush out any lubricant and will eventually lead to a sticking switch.
There is a small degree of sideways movement in the toggle. This is not a fault.
SYMPTOMS OF A STUCK SWITCH (continuously transmitting)
l Toggle remains in the down position. (Lift it up again and lubricate at earliest opportunity).
l P2 unable to communicate with P1. (P2 mike is mute during transmissions)
l Radio traffic goes quiet. (Other users of the frequency are blocked by your continuous Tx)
